CADGROUND CLOUD / GETTING STARTED
Bring a scene.
Take the next step.
This guide follows the current Cloud experience.
Create your account and project
Register to create your own organization and confirm your email. Open Projects, create a Free project and select Open in CADground. Free allows one nondeleted project per organization; archived projects still use that slot.
Choose a demo or upload your files
A new project shows an upload area and eight demo previews. Choose a demo to copy its files into your project, or upload a PLY, PCD, E57, LAS or LAZ point cloud. Supporting images and PDFs belong to the same project.
Explore and ask CADground AI
Navigate the scene and open the AI tab. Try: “Take a picture of the current view and describe what you see.” Use text or voice input, review the response and expand Details when you need technical information.
On Free, keep the editor open during a task. Pro uses a managed browser in its dedicated environment and can continue after you close the editor. On Free, closing all editor tabs for the scene stops the task after a short reconnect window. Reopen the same conversation and send a new message to continue; it does not restart automatically.
To include supporting material in a message, select Attach file. The file is saved in your project and referenced in the message sent to AI.
Keep and reopen your work
Use Files to manage project files and outputs, preview images and read PDFs. Open folders to find uploaded sources, saved work and generated outputs. Download deliverables from Files or the links in chat. Use Scene source to switch between scenes already in this project. To add another point cloud, choose File → Open / convert.
Review measurements, reconstructed geometry and generated documents against your source before using them.
Explore Pro when you’re ready
Upgrade from the project page to move its files, saved scenes and artifacts to a dedicated environment. The current upgrade leaves earlier chat history in Free. Pro upgrades this existing project; it does not currently enable creating additional projects. Live paid checkout and credit purchases are not available yet.
Connect your own AI on Pro
When external MCP is enabled for your Pro environment, open Connect AI on the project page and add its URL to a compatible remote MCP client. Sign in and approve access to this project. Read only is selected by default; write access also allows importing project files and changing geometry.
Choose your model in your AI client. Its provider handles AI billing and data processing. CADground-funded extraction tools are unavailable through MCP. Disconnect a client from the project page at any time.
Manage access and check usage
On Pro, open Team to invite teammates and manage organization roles and project access. Pro supports three members, including the owner; pending invitations also reserve a place. Use Settings to update your profile or change your password.
Opening the interactive editor requires Editor or Project manager access. A Viewer can read permitted project details and use read-only MCP on Pro.
Usage shows requests and tokens for the last 7, 30 or 90 days. It loads when you open the page or change the period; select Refresh usage to request an update. Days with no AI activity are omitted from the daily table.
Understand early-access pricing
Free does not require a payment card or automatically turn into a subscription. The planned Pro price is US$49 per month per organization. Live payments are not enabled. If Mollie test checkout is enabled, it is clearly marked and uses simulated payments, without real charges.
Final commercial upload, storage and AI allowances are not yet published as included entitlements. Credit purchases are not available. See the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy review drafts.
